What on earth were they thinking when they came up with the idea to add this, no one ever liked any of these!

You will normally get cash when you have maxed out gold

Wasn't even close, I'd just been to the Black Market and spent it all, that's why it was such a surprise!

I know GameLoft likes to dilute the hell out of everything but gold and cash should not be on the exotic StW at all

Got my 50% -1 upgrades done, now just wait and see if we get boned again, for reference the level 4 -> 5 upgrade requirements.

Likewise, I am putting very little effort into this now due to the confetti effect. I can just imagine this in PvP with Assassins moving around Drones coming in and RPG's firing it is a closet keeper and won't be seeing the light of day

I'm not so sure about this weapon. GL's history would seem to make it a dud as were the last several weapons.

However, I am through Chapter 7 and have yet to reload or zoom the weapon. It is devastating in the event. What it does in PVP is rarely related to the event but we shall see.

There is really no reason to upgrade the scope, stability, or thermal since the affinities cover these aspects. The upgrades have to be completed only to win the weapon and increase the total damage a bit.

With God-like it will be unbeatable for Warlord and Battle Pass odd requirements. But then, God-like makes every weapon unbeatable (even though I've seen losses with it enabled).

Well we didn't get boned on the upgrading, 50% required, last upgrade at chapter 10 mission 5, the very last one in other words.

Added another upgrade I had enough parts for and tested on my base with Werewolf (White) gearset to match the affinity, and as expected it's a POS.

Another one for the gun cupboard never to be used again rack!

I suppose "boned" is in the eye of the beholder. From what you have described as a PvP weapon, I would say we have been well 5Haft3d.

How true, again, I only meant they hadn't lied (this time) about the level of upgrade needed to keep it.

Although we did get sold a dud!

My theory on these (many) "duds" is that GL never intended them to be base/core killers. They were only produced to be used in Exotic events as entertainment in the exotic process. These events do not cost gold, rubies, diamond points if the player casually plays consistently so there is no net loss to playing. In fact, some modest gains, along with the weapon (useless or not) are won for free.

The Mega Exotic events are a significantly different story since the rewards are so much more valuable. Consumables will likely need to be used to complete the higher requirements but the payoff is there with SMs and avatars. The weapon is a toss-up but trying to "one-up" each weapon in each event is a never-ending spiral.

As expected, there are exception to the above theory and an occasional weapon proves useful. Others have recommended winning every weapon just in case GL drops a winner - accidentally or not. Now that they are randomly buffing weapons, that incentivizes players to play the event to the end.

I think you've pretty much hit the nail squarely on the head there.

But bare in mind GameLoft also have a habit of promoting a gear set to match the weapon during an exotic event, that's where they score in terms of rubies spend (real cash if you need to buy them).

Well, I finally have the weapon.
I have checked it in the 'Affinity Category' and it does in deed come out as a POS. it is well behind Crime & Punishment, Sand Blaster, CATO Infinite, Sun Blocker, Ghoul Purger, and even the Andromedan Arsenal.
So YES, it is truly a POS.
If you don't have a load of Base Killer Consumables, give he Victory Dat Event a MISS
