It's Official - I've Got Covid-19

Post by Decker »

Did a test this morning and bloody positive, happy blue Monday to me :?

Looking on the bright side, I supper from sever COPD (Chronic obstructive pulmonary disease) which puts me in the severely clinically vulnerable group and have basically been in isolation for 2 years, but I have had all my jabs, 2 vaccines and booster, and although I'm feeling pretty rough I don't feel I need hospitalisation - so +1 for vaccines.

If I hadn't had the vaccinations I'd be on a ventilator right now, which would not have been a great experience, and it would have added to the health service workload, so anyone wondering from first hand experience yes it is well worth getting your jabs.

The opinions given are only my own and is not intended to start an anti-vaxer flame war!

OH, NO! And COPD on top of it all!

COVID will get us all someday according to many doctors. At least you made it this far to the point of having vaccines, treatments, and experience dealing with the scourge. Vulnerable folks have a lot more resources for treatment than just a year ago.

Your doctor should be monitoring your condition very closely. Don't let this get out of hand.

Be well my friend. Wish I could do more that just root for your recovery.

Thanks mate, it's the selfish ones spreading it, our local supermarket, although it has a huge sign up stating that face covering are compulsory by order of the UK gov they're still about 80% of people just walking in without a mask, they don't seem to appreciate or care that covid is still killing people.

Sorry to hear of your diagnosis, take care and get to the Hosp as soon as anything untoward occurs. Be Well and Take it Easy.

Thanks Corp, I'm looking on the bright side that even though I feel hellish I don't feel bad enough to be hospitalised, if you can call that a bright side :P

Update, well I'm still alive so that's a plus for me :D

Been doing lateral flow tests and was showing positive up to 2 days ago then had a clear test, then unfortunately yesterday had another positive, same again today even though it's a very faint positive, so roll on tomorrow and see how it goes, officially I've got 3 more days of isolation to go but I'm not sure what will happen there if I'm still positive for covid, we'll just have to wait and see.
