Jungle Ghouls - 25-02-2022

Post by Decker »

This ones a standard one stage event, so no gear or SM's, the weapon itself seems a bit on the lower power side, and wanders a bit but the starting mag size of 200 rounds could be seen as a plus, the fact it has unlimited ammo if you can match the affinity kind of makes it pointless though, although it does also have symbiosis which is a useful ability. Apart from all that a standard railgun.

Can't have a knockout weapon in every event I suppose. I'll just use it to play the event for entertainment and see how it all shakes out when it is over.

It is highly powered already and the upgrades only increase its power a bit. Speaking of upgrades, they seem a bit steep in the beginning. Maybe I'm just used to the low Chapter 1 part requirements of a 3-stage event. However, I'm not wasting a Deputy or a Supreme Pack on this weapon.

So standard chapter 2, 1 upgrade required at mission 1 after which you can complete the chapter.

Downside, looks like the requirements have been hiked very high, 1 => 2 requires 24 parts, 2 => 3 requires 31, and whatever comes after that.

I know we don't have to completely upgrade this to keep it but I have a feeling this is going to be the new norm, high part numbers required prompting packs or deputies needed at each event, not good.

Also the unlimited ammo is useful as the zoom is atrocious, looks like it will be 3x max, no problem during PvP as that will be enough but during the event when enemies are far off it requires constant firing and hope for the best as the weapon does wander without upgrading stability, don't know if that will improve anything.

Parts drops are immediately showing shortages of some and plenty of others, another rigged part of the events, and StW is also back to predominantly gold dropping

These numbers go back further than the Coal Burner, the only difference being that GL has shuffled the % requirement to complete the event.
50% = 99 packs min
70% = 155 packs min
Once again GL has not alluded to the final requirement but looking at Deckers reckoning it looks like it could be 50%.
As for the parts required it is 24, 31, 38, 45, and 52

upgrade from 2 => 3 done the next requirement bares out Corps numbers at 38 parts for 3 => 4 and the same shortages being obvious again.

Your trailblazing efforts are much appreciated.

During this event, I'm going to use the old Snipey technique of camping out on Chapter 1 until nearer to the end. So far, drops haven't been too outrageous.

Looks like you've been fortunate with parts drops, good for you :D

I used to use that tactic too but now don't trust GameLoft not to move the goalposts so tend to play through as I can.

Has anyone seen the GL Upgrade requirement for this weapon??
As currently the event is mainly long range it s a complete POS and I doubt that it will stack up in PvP.
Just trying to determine if it is worth any further effort.

So far I've had to do 4 upgrades to complete chapter 5, at 1 upgrade per chapter after chapter 1, so I'm guessing that it will be standard through to chapter 10 when it will be the usual upgrade at mission 1 & 5.

Same again for chapter 6, 1 more upgrade required to complete the chapter.

So did it again and TOFTT, so was it worth it?

NO! It struggles to take out a grey drone on my base, used with Outbreak gear set for the affinity (basically for unlimited ammo) which has the Double Cross bonus (this one behaved strangely with this weapon as it did trigger a change of sides for one SM but he just stood there and didn't attack anything :o )

It went as expected (2 upgrades in chapter 10).

This one's one for those just starting out and have very little as yet definitely not a game changer and a pretty boring event all in to be frank...

Oh, well. Apparently, the enjoyment has to be from playing the event and nothing more.

Maybe if there is a superior SM offered in VD (and you have a ton of god-like and sleeping gas) it may find some use.

Oh well, the event wasn't much in the way of fun and the VD event is for a run of the mill 11* SM which is about as useful now as the weapon...

And again with such a large amount of parts that will not get used and showing how unbalanced (on purpose) the drop rates are
