Shard Event
Shard Event
How does this new "Shard Event" have relevancy? It appears to be free, time-limited, and introduces a new currency as rewards for tasks that most players routinely perform.
In looking at the payout for the two chests that can be purchased with "shards", they appear to contain relatively worthless items. What's up?

Shard Event
Worth a look as it has milestone awards and boxes to open, actually quite a lot of achievements although the award for each is quite small, so will take a bit of collecting.
It's good to see something for the players for a change.

Re: Shard Event
Anything for free from GL cannot be all bad, we wait and see. The first 1000 chest gives a 13* squadie.
Re: Shard Event
After looking more closely at the event, I will change my opinion. Free is always good (at least at GL). There are some decent rewards tucked away.

Lokks like they have Naffed it, timer reducing but no goals registering
Re: Shard Event
On Discord, the explanation is that the original timer expired and the earning event portion is over. The extra time added is only for those that have not cashed in their Shards to open chests.Corporal Kiwi wrote: Sat Nov 15, 2025 4:07 am Lokks like they have Naffed it, timer reducing but no goals registering
After the current (secondary) timer runs out, the event will disappear along with all the Shards that are not cashed in.
No news on the future of Shard events.

It got me to play Survival Fury for the first time. Not that interesting but it does fulfil Shard requirements. Obviously, updates on equipment are necessary...it will take some time since no resources (or real cash) will be spent. Haven't survived much over a minute each round with the weak equipment.

Re: Shard Event
Thanks to a shard drop I'm able to run a 7 day deputy, woohoo.

Re: Shard Event
I'm liking this event more and more as are others. It is a sure sign GL will bury it or nerf it to the point of irrelevancy. It is a negative thought but based on past history.
I was able to finish the "Season" section of the event and got a nice 16* in just one day. But, apparently, that section is now dead for the rest of the month-long event as far as chests are concerned. Shards are still earned for the total shard count.
Be prepared to see that 16* in about every player's base defense. It's in mine...just need to continue to update it.

Won't be surprised, just depends how useful it actually is.

Re: Shard Event
Opponents are beating my base by using the "Triple Knock-Out" perk. That's OK, those perks are in somewhat short supply and difficult to get so that factor should diminish over time.
Re: Shard Event
Meant to mention that, before starting the Deputy, you might want to consider starting the Navy Legendary Commander (top row, center, old guy). It significantly lengthens the duration (to 9 days I think) as well as shortening the Supreme Pack timer for 24 hours. Just a thought. They are compatible and run concurrently over the Commander duration.Decker wrote: Wed Dec 24, 2025 12:30 pm Thanks to a shard drop I'm able to run a 7 day deputy, woohoo.
After that Commander runs out, the next Commander in the row (Navy Epic) gives a bit of Supreme Pack shortening with a PVP defense boost and Spec OPs advantage for 20 hours.
Since only one Commander at a time can be activated, it might foul using the first Commander in the row for using in WU (Red Ops).

Re: Shard Event
I've never paid much attention to commanders before, might have to have a bit of a look into it
good bit of info that.
